announcing: what’s in the bible curriculum

working with phil vischer and lori bethran on curriculum

what’s in the bible has officially announced the brand new children’s ministry curriculum companion! i’m thrilled, excited and honored to be a part of this project!

i met phil vischer a few years ago while we were working on a conference together and ever since then i have been one of his biggest fans. he is humble and creative and all-out committed to raising the next generation of christians. so, you can imagine how thrilled i was when phil contacted myself and lori bethran to help with this new project!

here’s an overview of the curriculum

each DVD will feature a corresponding 4 weeks of curriculum. we will start by launching (tentatively) the curriculum package for DVD 1 in june 2010.

the curriculum will feature several key distinctives:

1. Excellent Quality: creativity, storytelling, and biblically Sound

2. Customizable: options for children’s leaders to customize the lessons for their specific church context: size, location, denomination, and theology

3. Innovative Technology: iPad, iPhone, iPod touch apps, and at-home web applications, just to name a few!

4. Easy to use: several format options will provide every church with the ability to use the curriculum, regardless of technology available

5. Distinct Teaching about the Bible: content including bible history and stories from all the books of the bible!

we’re excited that this curriculum will encourage biblical literacy in a new generation of christians, and will provide a great format for children’s ministry leaders to implement.

We’re excited about this ‘over the pond’ – but wonder how easy it will be to get hold of and whether it will ‘translate’ OK.

The DVDs are available in the UK from Eden Bookshop or Cross Rhythms (online).

      • I recently bought the dvds to use in our kids groups – are the curriculumdvds separate?? here doesn’t appear to be curriculum/follow up material on them.

  4. I’m pretty excited about it… especially excited that there is work going into apps for the iPhone and iPad. Now that’s forward thinking!

  5. I am so thrilled about this because we have needed something “fresh” in our homeschool Bible time. I know most people may be thinking of using this for their churches but we are beyond excited to use this in our home classroom!!! It thrills my heart to know that Phil is behind this…you all are such an amazing team!!

Keep up the hard/heart work! 😉

This will be fantastic! We love the first two videos and the curriculum will be a great enhancement to our family bible study in terms of adding interest for our small children….it may also be a great way to inspire families that are not currently doing a family study with thier children to ease into such an activity. My husband and I have been searching for different ideas for helping parents start teaching their children the bible at home if they aren’t already doing so. This could prove to be a very friendly tool for that!

My family loves the new WITB videos! I am over-the-top thrilled to learn that curriculum is being written, as well, as I really want to use this with our after-school Bible Club at our public school. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!! God bless you all.

  17. We’re in the process of developing a children’s church program hoping to start ASAP. Our committee watched the DVD1 last night and are excited to learn that a curriculum will be released regarding it in June…somewhere I read “tentatively”…sigh…in that case, we’ll have to develop our own. AND we like it that much that we began last night trying to figure out where we could divide up Parts 1 and 2. And what activities we could use to complement the material.

How do I sign up for knowing exactly when the curriculum is released and how to purchase it? Any chance of seeing any samples in advance?
